Building Control/ Projects
Lewis Berkeley Building Control staff have worked on all types of projects ranging from Healthcare, Educational, Residential and Retail. Competed projects include:
City Academy School, East London: Large span timber framed building, designed with an ethos of sustainability in construction and use.
6 Storey Clinical Hospital Facility, London: Designed in accordance with HTM 81. The building fell under the remit of section 20 which required difficult but ultimately successful negotiations with the Local Authority.
7 Storey Office Block, London WC2: Fire safety measures included phased evacuation, life safety sprinklers, stair pressurisation etc. Again section 20 was applicable, which was successfully negotiated with the Local Authority.
Disaster Recovery Projects: Lewis Berkeley Building Control has acted as AI for many Business Continuity construction projects throughout England and Wales including a 385,000 sq. ft project on London’s south bank and a 70,000 sq. ft site in Stourport.
